Crochet Mandala Table Runner/Mat

This is a bedspread pattern (which I turned into a runner cum mat) that I found in a magazine called Labores Hogar EXTRA. So far I couldn’t find a website or a link to give credits.

I started this work mid of June, but could not complete it because I went for vacation the next month and returned back in August. By the end of August, I somehow managed to finish it.

When I started this work, I was actually planning to make it a sofa header, but then I got too bored of crocheting the same pattern with the same shade over and over again. I dropped the plan and thought of turning it into a table runner. Honestly, it looked really bad on our black coffee table. So I had to drop that plan too.

That is when my sister suggested to try it as a simple table mat. She tried it on her TV stand and I totally loved it! She clicked a few gorgeous pictures for me as well decorating it with her beautiful Turkish Bowls she bought from Mutrah Souq(Oman).

She also tried it as a runner and it looks perfect for her interiors.

This pattern is so easy to work. You only need to know the basic stitches such as single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet, front post dc, treble crochet and picot stitch (and of course the basic chain!)

Happy Crocheting!

P.S I found a pin in Pinterest where you can find this pattern. The pattern is depicted in a chart with notes (in Spanish).
